Storyboard

The storyboard was made during our planning process, it is to show how many shots are required, and what we need to film.

Animatic

Unfortunatley, due to technical problems, I was unable to upload my animatic. (very annoying, seeing as it took so long to make!) This was just a filmed version of my storyboard, to give an idea of how long the sequence was going to take, and how the shots would flow together.

Editing...

Out of all of the processes, I enjoyed the editing the most, as I felt I had control over the outcome. The editing took a long while; it was the longest part to the production. We included many different effects in our production to make it look professional, but didn’t stick to the invisible editing conventions, we used fades, pans and slowed some of the footage down, this gave our film opening a different feel, but it still looked good.
The typewriter style titles were achieved by layering frames over each other, but at different times. For example, for "Directed by..." the first frame would have "D", the second "Di" third, "Dir" fourth "Dire" and so on, until all of the titles were completed. And the Typewriter sound was placed over top of it and cropped to fit with the letters. This was a very time consuming process, but the result looked effective.

Why Millie?

Millie, our leading lady.

We thought Millie would be ideal for our female spy because of many reasons; she is very pretty, which we wanted our main character to be, but she also looks a strong woman, who you wouldn't want to mess with. Millie had experience with acting, and attended a drama club, so she didn't mind being in front of the camera. Also, as our main character is in her late 20's we wanted someone who didn't look too young, and although Millie is only 16, she looks as though she could be older, so she was perfect for the role.

ProblemsProblemsProblems!

We encountered many issues whilst producing our film opening, mostly through poor time keeping. We thought that our production was really good at the start of the project, and we thought we were ahead of our schedule, however due to factors (such as the fact it took 3 hours to find a piece of music!), and that we did not initially film enough footage we found ourselves in a situation where we had to prioritise what was most important.
If we had more time we would have gone to film more footage, but due to Christina's grandparents being away we were unable to use the same setting, which would have meant filming the majority of our production again, and it would have taken too much time.
